Primary Grades K-2

Students across the globe use technology to engage in meaningful, authentic tasks, even at the earliest ages. Here are a few examples:

Student Blogs

(some of the media might not be viewable from behind the district's firewall)

Maria Knee's Kinder students blog about what is happening in their classroom. Some of the tools they use to publish are SchoolTube for their videos, Bubbleshare for their picture slideshows, Voki for a talking avatar, Animoto for a fancy video slideshow, and Skype to connect with other students around the world.

1st Grade

1st Grade students in Kathy Cassidy's class blog on a regular basis. You can see the improvement in their writing over time.

2nd Grade

Students in Mrs. Ngai's second grade classroom are just beginning to blog. They are incredible! (Ms. Ngai's classroom is in LAUSD's Local DIstrict 6) They also create some wonderful VoiceThreads

Classroom Blogs

Many teachers have classroom blogs where they publish student work.
Mrs. Wojtera's 1st grade students publish their work. They use many different tools, like Voicethread, Wordle, and Slide
